Hated to do it .... But, the 74 TC Special had to go. It's living in Georgia now, enjoying the warm weather.

Picked up the new body. This is a Lotus Type 62 reproduction made by Bank's Europa engineering in the U.K.

It's a three piece glass fibre body shell (the doors are there somewhere).

I designed the chassis in Solidworks, and then dimensions were adjusted when the body arrived. In the first photo the center

section is getting pretty solid, making it easier to assemble as I go along. In the second photo the snout is

near completion. I plopped the body on just to see what was going on.......shooooo!!! IT FIT

Fabricated the "A" arms, and attached Miata uprights. The lower ball joint is an F150 Ford tie-rod end, and the upper an Opel

tie-rod end. The Miata steering rack had to be lengthened 2" on either side to meet the same plane as the A arms. The anti-roll

bar is 1.00" x .083", and is adjustable from 210lb.s to 350lb.s. The brake calipers are Miata specific(weird mount cntr.), made by Python.

Started the rear section, and got the engine mounted. In the 4th photo I've made a bellcrank to reverse the direction of

the cable shift, from behind the engine to in front of it. The 5th photo shows the Toyota MR2 shifter (great shifter!).

Have placed the body on the chassis to place attaching  points, radiator placement, and soforth.

The radiator is mounted! After finishing machining the rear uprights that I had bought as raw castings from Mamba Motorsports. I was able to get the rear suspension fabricated, and assembled.  I used Miata hubs, and will use Miata rotors with Outlaw 2 piston calipers.  The rear anti-roll bar has yet to be done.

IT ROLLS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
